In this guide, we will show you how to complete your tax return step by step.
Before you start, please ensure that you have the following information:
- Unique tax reference (10 digits reference from HMRC)
- Landlord statements from letting agent, summary of rental income and expenses
- Mortgage interest statement
- Bank statement
- P60/P45
After you have signed in, you will be asked to select your tax status and the relevant tax forms (see all of the forms that we cover*)
Step 1: Open the form by clicking and fill in the form
Step 2: Fill in your personal information especially your unique tax reference number (UTR)
Step 3: View your tax calculation
Step 4: Validate your data and view tax form – make payment before you submit
What will happen after submission?
Once your tax return has been submitted to HMRC system, your data will be verified by HMRC automatically. If everything looks fine you will receive a successful receipt confirmation by email directly from HMRC. It usually takes less than a minute for the validation check to complete by HMRC but during the busy period it could take longer.
